About This Course

This business and management course, taught by emlyonX manager and entrepreneur Kenza Bennis, takes an inter-disciplinary approach to understanding the context and opportunities of doing business in Africa. You will learn about the reality of Africa's economic boundaries, understand the causes of risk, how to identify emerging opportunities and learn how to implement and develop value propositions from Africa's most successful entrepreneurs.

This course takes a unique approach mixing academic contents with hands-on testimonies of major entrepreneurs and experts from all across Africa. We hope that you will leave this course with a deeper understanding of the African economic and social context, and how to built a business that effectively tackles African needs.

Meet the instructors

Kenza Bennis


Kenza Bennis is an entrepreneur, she received her MSc in management [programme grande école] in 2009 from emlyon business school.

Kenza started her career in the Private Equity industry and then founded BloomingBox, a beauty e-commerce, as well as a skincare brand.

Kenza has sound understanding of the Moroccan market and the south/north trade issues. She produces MOOCs with a focus on doing business in Morocco and Africa.

Youssef Lahlou

Youssef LAHLOU

Youssef Lahlou has more than 10 years of experience in strategy and consulting in Morocco and internationally. He is currently Managing Partner at Accuracy Intelligence, an independent consulting firm dedicated to supporting its clients in carrying out their development projects in Morocco and Africa.

Before founding Accuracy Intelligence, Youssef was Principal in the strategy and development division of Casablanca Finance City Authority, where he was responsible of developing and managing its network of African partners and monitoring the competitive and strategic intelligence activities. Prior to this experience, Youssef worked in strategy and management consulting at BearingPoint in Paris.

Youssef holds a “Grande Ecole” business degree from EM Lyon business school.
